Dun Dun Dunnnnnnn

So it is just turning midnight my time and I’m still awake. But everyone says that is typical for college students anyways to never get sleep. I’m adjusting to the norm, trying to lay low and fit in. So even after all the lectures adults try to give kids about how important sleeping is and how you can only grow while you’re sleeping. Dude I say that is false. I’ve been sleeping for over 19 years now and I have yet to hit 6 feet in height. That would present some problems though because if I were to be 6 feet even though I’d have the advantage of being able to reach the top shelves and never having to get a ladder I’d risk the possibility of dating men shorter than me (which I’ve done and it just doesn’t work for me. I’m short. He needs to be taller than me. I mean seriously someone has to block all the sun from getting in my eyes). What would the world be like without tall boys to assist girls in that way? I submit that it wouldn’t be a very worthwhile one. Plus by being abnormally tall I’d also risk having a long neck. For some reason I’m picturing abnormally large women as having long necks. And I’m talking these are necks that even scarves or neck braces couldn’t cover up. Those girls pretty much have only one option in life; to paint brown spots on themselves, find a tall tree from which to forage and get in the giraffe pen in the zoo. I have been to a zoo a couple times. The one time I went in Kindergarten I wore these overalls and my Phoenix Suns hat because they’re my favorite team still even though they lost Charles Barkley when I was young. Tragedy. Mucho Grande. Oh back to the zoo... Well this goat tried to eat me. I’ve heard goats eat everything and you always see them in movies eating cans and stuff, well it tried to eat me. Speaking of eating I am hungry hold on I’m going to go get some chips. Ok I’m back now. I really love barbeque chips they are so good!! When I’m at home I’d have to 007 it and hide with my beloved bag of delectable crunchiness but here I can eat the entire bag all by myself. Without my father waiting until I’m not looking and grabbing the bag and literally stuffing the entire thing in his mouth just so I can’t have any. What a jerk. I learned how to do a Rubick’s cube a while ago and one I learned, other people who also learned would go out and get like a 4x4 or a 5x5 which is bigger than the normal 3x3 cube (which I can do.) so I decided that all those who did that are just trying to show off. I mean seriously if you can do a freaking Rubick’s cube to begin with you are impressive. (I know this because I can do one). It’s just beyond showing off and has reached a potentially dangerous level. They should be flogged on sight and rapidly lashed with 30 tubes of tide to go. That stuff is amazingly genius. My friend had a chocolate fountain at her wedding and kept spilling it on her white dress... genius... No one could tell thanks to the amazing tide to go! If/when I get married I’m going to have to buy the company or something because even though my mother says I won’t have a chocolate fountain, I will. By the love I have for chocolate coating on edible things I swear it. I went to this reception once and they had a POTATO BAR!!! They had these amazing little cup thingies and various topping of which to apply to your scooped potatoes! I’m so going to have one of those in my house. Right next to the cookie bar and my own personal Wendy’s/Panda Express. (Hey they do it with A&W all the time why not Wendy’s and Panda? Did you notice those two boxing Panda’s on the Panda Express doors are the exact same but with different color shorts? Curse those lazy advertisers for their lack of originality. I think they should make them first different Pandas and then give them both a personality. They are fighting for two different types of chickens so why not? Well this is extremely long. Fun stuff. So if you actually read this whole thing just let me know and I’ll apologize for this lameness. I know I’m nowhere near as cool as Rufio! =)

Wow!!!!

SOOO much has happened and i will update on that stuff eventually but i decided to forget about all that right now and tell you about my day today because its my blog and i can do what I want to. =) soooo here it goes. OK so everyday i go into classes i find hot guys with empty seats next to them to sit by because I'm bored and at least want that small satisfaction lol and i don't really know anyone else and i have to stay awake somehow

so today in anthropology i did just that.. looked for a hot guy sitting alone and i decided to sit by him. this one was actually really really hot haha and as i sat down i also noticed that he was pretty buff too. not your average male i must say.


so we were set to watch this effing retarded movie called guns germs and steel part 3. now keep in mind i have fallen asleep thru all other 2 parts we watched...

well i started talking to this guy cuz he was flipping hot and i figured the worst that could happen is that i never see him again in this class of like 100 people... so we talked.

ha ha we were cracking jokes and stuff it was great and the whole time I'm thinking crap. I should get his number and use the "study buddy" excuse. well.. yeah lame i know.

so it wound down to the end of class and I'm thinking I'm a friggin retard for even thinking anything like that and i start to throw my pen in my backpack and he says "hey can i have your number and call you sometime?"


oh. my. heck. i know . crazy right ha ha it was awesome and he didn't even use the lame-o study buddy excuse I'd been planning.

so i gave him my number and he said "wait a second.. I'm gonna call you to make sure you gave me your real number.... and so that you can have mine"

let me tell you... i may just have smiled a little lol

so his name is Kyle and we're gonna sit together at next class Wednesday!!!!! =) I'm so excited!!!

SO FAR

Well I am in Provo, Utah now. I really really like it here. how can i not, It's 70 degrees!!! totally a major improvement from 112 degrees. i can even bring out my jackets! I'm all moved in with my 2 roommates at Wyview park. I share a room with Kennedy and Kirsten is just across the hall. I don't have too much to do because classes haven't started and i don't have many plans. its nice though, I'm not complaining. I hung out tonight with my 3 cousins i didn't know existed but that i found recently. Well technically one is my 3rd cousin and the other 2 are second cousins. I got my student ID card... and the picture is lame, but it will work i guess. and that is about the extent of what I've done so far. we finally got all the kitchen stuff put away and shoved a bunch of boxes in the closets. (don't open the hall closet.. you really don't need to see the ironing board!) I think i need pictures for my walls.. they're kinda bare and my roommate puts me to shame with my obvious lack of pictures so i think that will be one of my goals. whoopee. =) Its so weird to think that this is where i live. it feels like EFY right now instead of actual college, however that is still subject to change pending on classes. OH and i saw Kung Foo Panda tonight at the theaters with my cousins!! it was absolutely hilarious!!! Dad you'll love it! oh and did i mention that movie only cost me $1.50? and that was only because it was after 7 pm! normally they're $1.00 to $1.25. I'm SUPER excited about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love movies!!!!

The Wire

I am down to my last day in Las Vegas!!! =) I can't believe it has gone by so fast! Today I just need to pack up the last few things (much to my sister's delight... she'll have her own room now)and fit them all in the back of my car (hopefully my dad will be willing to help, he is slightly better than me at tetris.. but I will have to beat him at a game now just because I said that. I have to keep in good standing; meaning: ahead of him lol). I am leaving tomorrow morning around 9ish for BYU, if I wake up when I'm planning to that is. It is my first day off of work in a while and I might be tempted to sleep in.. especially given that it's a school day and all the siblings will be off at school. Who knows if I'll actually set the alarm or not. I am so excited!!!

Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Las Vegas has its own set of traffic rules. There's no book about them. All you can do is get in your car and hope you survive to learn them.

All your directions start with, "Go down 95...'cause you don't want to get on 15." Las Vegas Blvd, Charleston Blvd, and Torrey Pines have no beginning and no end.

It's impossible to go around a block and wind up on the same street that you started on. The Chamber of Commerce calls this a "scenic drive".

The 8:00 am rush hour is from 4:30am to 11:30am.The 5:00pm rush hour is from 11:30am to 10:15pm. Friday's rush hour starts on Thursday morning and ends sometime late Sunday night.

If you actually stop at a yellow light, then you cannot be from Las Vegas.You may only apply your brakes when the end of a yellow light and the beginning of the red light create a "pumpkin-orange" hue.

For the most part, you can do anything you want, as long as it isn't in a school zone.

Just remember that Camino Al Norte is Martin Luther King Blvd., Boulder Highway is Fremont Street, Eastern Ave is 25Th Street or Civic Center Drive, Desert Inn is Lamb Blvd., Smoke Ranch is Carey, Spring Mountain/Sands/Twain are all the same street.And don't forget that Ft. Apache turns into Rampart and then turns into Durango.Don't try to figure it out. Just accept it.If you question the intelligence behind this naming convention, people will simply tilt their heads to the right and stare at you.And Rancho moves every street over.

Henderson is the only place in the world where THREE "parallel" streets intersect at one traffic light.That would be the 4-way of Green Valley Parkway/Eastern Avenue / Maryland Parkway. For laughs ask your middle school Geometry teacher to try to explain it.Rainbow Blvd. has THREE exits from the 95, this just makes giving driving directions to newbies more entertaining.

The cutest 5 minutes of my week

I was called to be a nursery worker about a month ago, and I have discovered the absolute CUTEST thing ever!!!! The primary song leaders come in each week for about 5 minutes and sing songs with the kids. It is absolutely ADORABLE!!! They sing I'm so glad when daddy comes home (by request), book of Mormon stories, the Big Hairy Spider, I am a Child of God, Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam, and a few others. It is so cute watching these little kids do the actions and sing and smile! It is the BEST 5 minutes of my week and the thing I most look forward to in Nursery. I'm really going to miss those little guys.

My Torture...

As many people are aware, Breaking Dawn (the final book in the Twilight Series) came out on August 2nd. I unfortunately have NOT read the entire book yet and it is the 4th! I actually haven't even started!!! ugh.. we pre-ordered it through Walmart because they had the best price for it and the shipping confirmation paper said it would be in on Saturday. I busied myself waiting for it and IT NEVER CAME!!!! Oh man, it was horrible. First when I got home from helping set up tents at Girl's Camp, I thought it had come and my dad had hidden it, so I started going through his room and it really didn't help that he was just laughing at my desperation. It was so bad that I had a dream that my mom had hidden it in the dresser beside her bed and so when I woke up I had to check it just to be sure. My mom looked at me like I was insane and asked why I just came in and looked through her drawer.. and naturally because she is my mother, I had to explain and was further mocked. So I should be getting the book today if all proceeds according to plan. On the upside Saturday when I was distracting myself Greg, Dawnie, my dad and I had a "Mummy Marathon." We watched the first two Mummy movies back to back and then went and saw the third in theaters directly after. (Dad was worried we'd miss the movie but i got him there in perfect time!! HA HA see dad.. 10 minutes of previews ;-)

The Beginning

Sooo i decided to start a blog for a couple of reasons. First would be because in my leaving to go to BYU in a few weeks i figured my mother would like to be regularly updated on what it is that I'm doing and seeing as how she's convinced that I'm not going to miss her or call her, this is my attempt to keep her "in the loop." Reason number two is because a bunch of my friends have them and I was told that i needed to do one. Reason number three is because it seemed fun and I want to be cool too :) I will try to keep this updated and try not to bore anyone. I'll edit some things I'm sure and give only highlighted reader's digest versions of some things, but basically i will keep you updated about my crazy life.
